Code of Conduct & Professional Standards
At Nurse On Board, we're committed to upholding the highest standards in patient care. That's why we made a decision from the start to subscribe to the Health Advocates' Code of Conduct & Professional Standards.
It sets out ten key behaviours that private, professional health advocates must live by. In essence, they ensure that clients and their families always remain the priority, and that integrity is at the heart of everything advocates do.
A Pledge to Clients
Health advocates practice with compassion and respect. The health, safety and privacy of clients are essential priorities, and advocates operate with transparency and a deep respect for the values and belief systems' of their clients.
To that end, advocates will serve to guide and assist clients, without ever making decisions on their behalf about care, treatment options or payment for medical services.
Health advocates are committed to providing clients with the best information, and referring them to highly skilled practitioners and health care providers. At the same time, advocates pledge to grow their own knowledge base through ongoing learning and educational opportunities.
Under the code of conduct, advocates pledge to never discriminate or refuse service to individuals based on race, religion or differences relating to culture, gender or sexual preference.
